Turtles and Elephants

This one is not to spread social awareness of any sort..it is not even a take on the larger section of the society..it is 'just a thought' i want to share:-) This is about people who have a world of happiness but still have the audacity to complain!
I have finished laying off the disclaimers..we can go on now I guesss.

Look around a little..maybe u r just missing out on seeing lives of the people around you... maybe…

Sometimes, things kick off greatly and everything seems word-perfect. Well, there are times when this does not happen and then, the people who have such experiences become the 'unfortunate' ones.
However, most of the times I think it is all about Einstein's theory of relativity. Don't be super-socked. This is just the beginning of my rather strange analysis of human behaviour. Experts (who, however, are not reading my blog right now! :p) may disagree with me. And, I might be wrong, but I would still want to go ahead and say this.
Now, this man is famously quoted saying -"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity" . Honestly, sitting next to a pretty girl has not made any difference to my existence.. But I can vouch for the truth of that genius's quote if when I sit with a super-hot guy;-);-). So, when we say things did not commence or happen the way we wanted it to, we conveniently forget that: Things happened..only the magnitude of it varied. Relativity! Look around..

For instance, one of my very close friends complained about not getting a job in a particular town. I listened to him for about two months without complaining. I sympathized and behaved like a perfect friend. His cribbing season never ended. Every conversation started revolving around the same topic. I wanted to hold his throat and say, "you atleast have a job! There are a million people out there who can kill to be in your place right now..so just shut up and stop cribbing!". I agree that it might have been his life time dream, but not everything is lost. There are ways out of such situations.
All of us like to keep the money pouring in. But 7.5 million Indians, 25% of the german population, 27% of the Canada’s population is without a job of any kind. These people have NO job. In comparison was my friend's situation worse? Relativity! Look around…

If some situations are annoying, some are exceedingly enlightening.  I was at this grand ado where everybody was a somebody. I have no clue why I was there. A very charming acquaintance of mine walked up to me and said..” My parents will never understand me..They think I have changed after I found her (girlfriend). I feel so lonely. If they do not understand me who else will?”
I listened to this guy for more than an hour( I am a sucker for stories!). It then flashed me that he might not stop talking at all. Thank god for this one elderly person who walked by and said something sane. She said- “Listen son, I am sorry but I overheard all that you said. I would like to tell you that you do not get a choice between having your parents or Al- Pacino’s parents, the only choice you r getting is-  you can have your parents or no parents. That is how life is to everybody..you make the choice now. “  I was bowled over. Well its Relativity! Look around..

I mean, life is not exactly hunky-dory all the time and that fact is very well registered. Thank you. But then, why can't people be sportive enough to accept what happened in their lives. Its not the end of their world. The options that are given to us may not be overwhelming. But, we still have options. There are so many of them who do not have any. If we continue to live high up in the air and build our own little castle there, even going to a grocery store for milk will seem difficult. There are so many people around us who have nobody to care for, so many of them who are dying from hunger and poverty, so many hwo can not read or write, so many who are physically/ mentally challeneged. They do not complain half as much as we ‘privileged’ ones do. Things can be so much simpler only if we are willing to budge a little and change our prespective. The train moves if you are standing on the platform..but for the passenger inside it you are moving away.
It is very important to understand/realise that we human beings are not elephants or turtles. Our life does not span for 130-150 years. On an average we get to celebrate our 60th birthdays. When such is the case, why do we waste moments of life doing nothing better than sulking?  Why not just apply the theory of relativity now and then to just lighten some pseudo-traumatic moments of our lives. And maybe we will even discover why our parents are upset with us? Why  we did not get the job we wanted? Why my girlfriend/boyfriend dumped me liked trash?  Maybe…
